CAGESAN

Cagesan (FR) is an artist born in Beauvais, France (2005). His family originally comes from Bicheno, Tasmania. Cagesan is an owl finch whose remarkable singing drew the attention of 2 producers in the Paris bird market: the illustrator Florence Manlik and the musician and poet Toog. Cagesan is not aware of his international success; he keeps his heart full of modesty. What counts the most for him is the sound of the garbage truck and the pecking of round seeds.

DAVIDE BALLULA

"Davide Balula belongs to a new generation of artists who are transcending some of the artistic gestures of the early 1960s, when some artists began to push back the boundaries set by the traditional fine arts system. Art is no longer limited to installing, filming and introducing ordinary or rare objects into the art world. It also lends itself to listening to music of the electronic ilk.
The work of Balula and of similar-minded artists belonging to his collectives can sometimes appear too clean, too friendly and harmless, especially to older generations. Yet it is perhaps the case that this apparent and superficial mood conceals a darker and more resolute intent. For example, Balula created a limited edition of mini-CDs, whichbreak the systems and speakers in which they are played. The artist’s fragile poetry, even when it functions as a weapon, is certainly not a humanist spiritual surplus to the outcomes oftechnological modernity. Instead, it is the product of an intimate understanding of the potential and limits of electronic tools. We will need it... " (Taken from “La mélancolie d’après”, by Laurent Jeanpierre.)

Digiki (FR) is a sound artist based in Tokyo. His recent activities include collaborations with Neen artist Mai Ueda, a 'fake hip hop' album under the name Darsh with again an eclectic cast (O.Lamm, Toog, Mc Cat Genius, Mae Shi, Dj Codomo, Carl Stone...), and a new album, Beat vacation, both albums unreleased so far.

OLGA formed in 2003 with Roger Delahaye (composition, guitar, keyboards and programming) and Florencia Zavadivker (voice, keyboards and adjustments). Both participated previously in other projects. In 1994 Roger formed Giradioses, project in which he was composer, lyrics, keyboards and guitarist. The group published 2 LP: Dormitorio, 1995 and Hi-Fiesta 2000 and ep Iniciacion Musical, 2001. that approach the "structure song" but with absence of voices. In all of them it predominates the sonic
landscapes and audio manipulation of pre-recorded material made almost exclusively with analog drum
machines and analog synthesizers. That year they make there first live presentation within the framework of the cycle Estudio Abierto, made by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires in the Harrods galleries. In 2004 they participated with the song "Flora and Fauna" in an electronic compiled, Canción Electronica II, published by Indice Virgen label. MC CAT GENIUS

MC Cat Genius is Piccolo Braden, a 5-year-old-puffy black and white cat from Columbia, Missouri, USA. Already well-known in the fields of terrible inventions and celebrity, he was one of the first signees to his sister Blanche's Cat Jams Label, and in 2003, Piccolo was chosen to appear on the Cornelius fanmix album PM by Humans. Since then, he has gone on to collaborate with such auteurs as Digiki, OBELISK, and Tape Store, and has made appearances (live or otherwise) at Uplink Factory in Tokyo, the Boley gallery in Kansas City, and Sparky's Homemade Ice Cream in Columbia. At one point, an experiment transformed him into a mischievous evil pancake with the power of flight. When not edutaining live or in the studio, he enjoys looking at bugs, driving his drill machine, throwing up, and being afraid of rustling plastic bags. He and Blanche both prefer tuna to chicken.

JAMES HARVEY

James Harvey (aka Harvey James) was born in England in 1983 and would have liked to have worked as an animator. However, one day he was walking in the park when MC Cat Genius surfaced in his drill machine, rupturing the tarmac and knocking over the swings. He promised to make James a star if he signed his life away to Cat Jams Records and foolishly, he accepted. He quickly found himself chained to a laptop in the engine room of the drill machine (which is powered by music), and the rest is history. Since his imprisonment, he has produced remixes and tracks for Digiki, Mai Ueda, myriad artists on the Cat Jams roster, and now Toog.

FASHION FLESH

Moving from A to B I would say that during my small youth period in the time space continuum I was taught to believe in fantastical things that had little to do with the laws of nature as well as the facts of typical universal science. These days were spent within a private christian school system, not so distant in it's teachings from living off unicorn's blood and flying without the aid of winged or jet-powerred machinery. Those days left me with a love of contradiction and the glory of awkwardness, absurdity and confusion; one thing's belief is another thing's flawed and bloated recollection...everything is a noun verbing. Making things new is what every thing likes, unfortunately not too many things take the time to acquire a new idea of their own. I've never liked borrowing ideas all that much so I began building smoke machines and mirror rooms, or actually they might be more like audio devices of electronic and electro-acoustic type...simply making my own brushes and pigments rather than relying on mixing and matching the standardized ones around that most things use. The rest of everything around that is even either more specific or vague, the details don't really add up to the results you might be able to find. I have friends that I like and I do like to play with them. You might actually only know of me through my actions with my musical and audible friends. If you want to know other things it wouldn't be hard to find them, regardless of their accuracy in content they might be what you're looking for.

REZNICEK

Autohypnotizer and exzessive soundlistener since his childhood, enthusiastic birdwatcher and educated in classical guitar when he was young, Günter Karl Joseph Reznicek started his musical career when he was a student of visual arts in Hamburg in the early 90s. He realized installations and audiovision shows, released records with abstract guitar sounds and concrete music on labels such like Odd Size, Wachsender Prozess and Staubgold and attract some attention with his unique live guitar shows and collaborations with Klangkrieg. He co-founded Radio Gagarin and Odradek magazine with Felix Kubin and Thomas Beck and the music edition Stora.
In the end of the 90s he formed the experimental electronic pop duo Groenland Orchester together with Gunter Adler, the multi art revue Las Vegas Show and Radio LasVegas with Mariola Brillowska and his sentimental and exzentric casio pop project Nova Huta. He wrote film and theatre music and often together with his friend Neoangin, Nova Huta played several hundred concerts all over the world.
But more and more he found himself mentally deranged from all those different facets of his personality. He was almost about to stop his artist life in order to start a car wash when suddenly he was asked to participate on the Cagesan project. It`s his first work as Reznicek since 7 years.
